“Entrepreneurship is neither a science nor an art. It is a practice”- Peter Ducker
The need of the day is entrepreneur’s development. We see the awareness across the globe. People talk about innovations and every school to develop next Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Well, this entrepreneurial spirit is the sense which gives success in life. It goes with the above quote that such a spirit is not a science nor an art but it develops with practice. Focusing on this aspect of practicing entrepreneurial skills schools today have started to make kids to practice such skill right from schools. The students today are exposed to various activities through which they get insights of business world and try to think as an entrepreneur.
Here are some of the ways tried in the schools:
Kids create wonderful artistic things. They sell such art on the platform of exhibition. Here they get the experience of selling and negotiating with customers. Consistently doing such sells makes them realize the improvements so they can increase their sell. Also ,they come out with wonderful decoration styles while displaying their own products where, they understand the importance of appearance and presentation for selling.
Higher grade students are given the entrepreneurial projects, like in Finland 9th graders were asked to handle entire company for a year. During this entire year they made their own product, sold it and packed it as well. Such an experience helped them to understand the insights of running own firm.
- Expert talk:
Nothing is more interesting then experience, the entrepreneurs when narrate their own story it motivate students the most. In this light, schools arrange the expert talk in which the successful people from various fields visit schools and interact with students. Here, they get knowledge about various fileds and future opportunities, the experts also provide mentorship if the students show genuine interest in their own field.
- Innovation challenge:
Innovation is the key which opens the door of success. Any useful novice product can create a history. We all know the story of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and many more. With innovation they became what they are today. The root for innovative thinking process is the inquiry process and thinking over the solution for the problem. To get problems an innovation challenge is organized where parents and visitors tell their queries and students develop an innovative solution to solve the problem.
